POLICY · PRIVACY
Privacy policy.
The short version: we collect only what we need to talk to you about your idea, we treat your idea in confidence, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
SparkLab is a venture-testing studio run from our remote lab in the rolling hills of Northamptonshire, near Towcester. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us via the contact page or call 01604 420430.
What we collect
When you submit an idea through our contact form, we collect the information you choose to give us: your name, email address, and whatever you tell us about your idea.
When you visit the site, we may collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.
How we use it
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, assess whether your idea is a fit for a Spark, and — if we work together — to deliver the experiment you have booked.
We treat everything you tell us about your idea in confidence. We never share your idea with other clients, and we are happy to sign an NDA before you tell us more.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to enquiries and running our studio) and, where we work together, contract (delivering the service you have booked).
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up the conversation if you come back. If we work together, we keep project records for up to 6 years to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and our email (hosting and email providers). They process data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.
We will only disclose your data otherwise if the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is always the current one. Last updated: October 2026.
